Ministries

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Neighbors Helping Neighbors, a ministry started by the Board of Deacons at TCC, provides home-cooked meals to our church families in times of need. There are district leaders who work with numerous volunteer “chefs” who will prepare and deliver the meals. Anyone may request a meal by contacting the church office. Your need may be based on a joyous occasion, such as the birth of a child, or during times of illness or bereavement. Additional volunteers are always welcome.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Each month a group meets to knit or crochet prayer shawls.  Shawls are for anyone who requests one and  are given to someone who has need of comfort in difficult times or in the warmth of joy. Beads and charms are sewn on to represent life, spirituality and the Trinity. Members donate their time and their talents. The shawls cannot be purchased, but if you know of someone who might benefit from the “life” a shawl can bring to help with sadness or healing, or in celebration, please contact the church office.

The group also knits Baptismal baby blankets with love and prayer. They are presented to the family by the Deacons.

Each year a blessing and dedication of prayer shawls is held during a Sunday service to remind us of God’s healing love and also to acknowledge the working hands of those who create these gifts of hope and wholeness. To date, more than 350 prayer shawls and 25 baptismal blankets have been blessed and given.

The Employment Support Group of Norton

This group is for people seeking employment. We provide help with resume design, networking skills, interviewing skills and mentor support. The group meets every other Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the church parlor. See the calendar for dates. The group is open to all. For additional information contact Barbara Janczunski. Part of the greater community mission of the Trinitarian Congregational Church.

Food ‘n’ Friends

Through the Attleboro Area Council of Churches, TCC serves a hot meal at the Mansfield location on every 6th Tuesday. The fellowship, as well as the giving of our time, talent, and food, strengthens us as we share what we have with our neighbors. For more information, contact the AACC.

Helping the Homeless

We accept donations for supplies, such as toothbrushes, socks, water bottles, and combs, which are then put into gallon plastic bags and delivered to AACC for distribution. We have delivered over 150 bags so far and will continue this ministry as we move forward.

Norton Playroom

Meeting twice a week, from 9:00 – 11:30 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the Norton Playroom is an open playdate with toys, friends, a story, and craft. Come meet with other moms and caregivers, enjoy a cup of coffee, and enjoy some grown-up conversation! If the weather is good, they often meet at the Norton Community Playground. Contact Suzanne Harrop at 508-208-1627 if you have questions.

Alcoholics Anonymous

We have two active groups, meeting on Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. We are proud to support our local friends by offering a safe place for them to address their addiction.
