Why is this day called Maundy Thursday? “Maundy” comes from the Old French mande, which comes from the Latin mandatum novum, or “new commandment.” Jesus’ new commandment (“love one another even as I have loved you”) is the focus of Maundy Thursday. This love is demonstrated in Jesus’ service and sacrifice.

All are welcome to join us for this special service remembering Jesus' commandment to love one another, with celebration of communion.
